Our office will have adjusted service hours at select locations to accommodate staff training. On Sept. 1, we are implementing a new tax collection software system designed to streamline transaction processing and enhance customer service.

Modified Office Hours

• Downtown Sarasota: Tue., Aug. 4 - Opening at 1 pm
• Mid-County: Wed., Aug. 5 - Opening at 1 pm
• North Port: Thu., Aug. 6 - Opening at 1:30 pm
• Venice: Thu., Aug. 6 - Opening at 1 pm

If you need assistance from our office on any of these dates, please plan ahead. As always, many services are available anytime online.

Any certificate without a bid is struck to the County at 18% annual interest and is available for purchase at 18% on a first-come-first-serve basis. To purchase a county-held certificate, please review instructions by clicking here. 

This fall, our office will implement Grant Street Group's tax collection system which has an online application called EscrowExpress® that will be used for the processing of 2026 property tax escrow / bulk payments. 

Beginning September 1, 2026, EscrowExpress is the only manner in which the Sarasota County Tax Collector will accept property tax escrow / bulk payments. To read more about how this change will impact your business with our office, please review this official memo.

Serving Sarasota County Only
Appointments or walk-in service will be provided to Sarasota County residents, businesses, seasonal residents, and those establishing residency only. This change will enable us to more efficiently serve the residents of Sarasota County. If you live outside of Sarasota County, please visit your Tax Collector.

Appointments are recommended for all services and can be scheduled online. Appointments are required for the Road or Written Test, Concealed Weapon License, and any service in the North Port Office.
