Amendment 3

For information about Amendment 3 and what it will mean for Sarasota County, please visit Sarasota County Government's website.

Tax bills for 2026 were mailed or emailed on October 30th. As your bill arrives, if you looking for information about how Amendment 3 will impact your property tax bill, please note the following important information:

  • The 2026 property tax bill you just received must still be paid as issued. Any changes to Florida property taxes will NOT impact the 2026 bill. The voter approved changes will impact the bill you receive for 2027 taxes.
  • Property tax bills in Florida are not being eliminated. With the passage of Amendment 3, your property tax notice will continue to include all School Board property taxes as well as Non-ad valorem assessments such as fire protection and solid waste services.
  • Please note: The Tax Collector does not determine property values or set tax rates. Our office is responsible for sending tax bills and collecting payments on behalf of the various local taxing authorities.
